So will anything change?

In spite of opposition’s strong fielding the UPA manages to win the trust vote. But in this entire ordeal the dark side of Indian politics crop up once again and will haunt us further. The outcome of the blunt experience of this parliamentary politics woven around the trust vote is that running a coalition government has become more problematic than ever before mainly because there is no limit of ill feelings among fellow politicians.

Running the country with a coalition government is now an old truth of Indian politics. Till now we had a long experience of seeing coalitions being formed and then dismembered. Among all coalitions, National Democratic Alliance (NDA) was the only one who enjoys its full tenure. This evokes faith that maybe adopting and performing the dharma of coalitions is born in our political scenario. But this faith was ephemeral and now counts his days.

Though the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) is confident of being together as a coalition, but the departure of the leftist brought unaccounted disturbance in the political atmosphere. In a way we are going back in time of uncertainty when assemblies were not that strong and anyone can call anyplace a home.
The coming days were of high turbulence when new equations will be formed and the alliance again will fight for its identity. In the recent political turmoil the United National Political Alliance (UNPA) has saw their coalition tearing apart and are looking out for new prospects.

Mayawati is now its new leader. But UNPA would get closed to its goal if they got support of someone else, like the Leftist. Well, they are now in touch with the BJP but it’s difficult to predict how long their friendship will survive. Left’s strength to initiate a strong equation for ruling or even elections is also debatable. NDA will try to stay way from this, while the UPA cannot even think of it for quite a reasonable time from now. Having elections ahead of running government will make us see the political cracks getting deeper. After that it will hard to trace principles that work to bring things closer.

Words like anti Congress, anti BJP have now lost their effect. The UDF can become an example of this who wants to be a part of the coalition just for the sake of forming government and nothing else; their ideology is out of question. Now a well portion of Indian politics is governed by personal needs and individualistic attention that further destroys the accord. Today no one knows who will get in agreement with whom or for how long they will be in accord. According to governance their effect will be negative.

This is the time when our political parties should have a clear view on important issues, which are in the interest of the country. Only then they can come out of political games and have a clear outlook on issues. Or else each system, in the country, would find a way to deal with things differently further denying the importance of governance.

Yep. True. India should come out of coalition govt... It is very volatile. So they should actually study it in more depth.. This way, the general public won’t suffer too much...
This government had not done anything that they could give the people and say yes this is for you the aam janata... Instead the inflation brought anger among people therefore this win was imperative for the congress... No one is bothered whether the deal will be a good this or a bad thing for the country all they want is an upper hand over the other... India needs new set of politicians... There should be like a retirement age for them...

Hey I completely agree. Today there are no ideologies in Indian Politics, and even i wrote my article about it. They are just playing a dirty game to come in power. Everyone wants to become a Prime Minister and they are ready to avoid their basic principles for that. Dude, I feel like no party is fair enought to come in power in coming 2009 elections.

I would like to provide my answer to the title of the article. :) I would say at this point 'No, I don't think anything will change,'.

My only thought in this sphere would be - corruption is simple, and contagious, its very easy to learn and spreads like wild fire. The only thing that changes is the style in which it is done. Example of what happened during the trust vote - curruption in that case has taken the 'in the face' means to show itself.

Praveer, I loved the title - very profound. I agree on your insight.Good play with words.

(It's a sad time wherein the very truth that people deserve to know is not let out. Besides very few have the real zest to 'do something' for the country in a true spirit.)
